I finally signed up for Twitter

I've had mixed feelings about Twitter since its inception but finally decided to sign up yesterday because so many of my favorite local food writers are posting interesting things on there...

So I signed up.  We'll see how it goes.  Perhaps I'll finding twittering (tweeting?) to be easier than blogging since it's all short 140 character bursts of information.

For the time being I'm going to just have one account, http://twitter.com/pnwjourneys, rather than having separate business and personal accounts.  In addition to travel, I'll be posting about another passion of mine, food and the local food scene, as well as my own quest to eat healthier and cook more.  I love to eat out and do so regularly but when I'm home, I tend to rely far too much on takeout and frozen dinners--cooking for one seems like so much work.   So to that end, I've been taking a cooking class with my friend Kathleen Flinn, author of "The Sharper Your Knife, The Less You Cry" (http://kathleenflinn.com/), which has been very helpful so far.  The other night we had a guest chef, Thierry Rautureau from Rovers (http://www.rovers-seattle.com/) who talked about cooking with leftovers.  It was great, he makes it look so easy!

I also plan to post updates on my travels--hopefully more frequently than on my blog!--as well as deals and news relating to travel in the Pacific Northwest.

So, for those of you out there who are on Twitter, I hope you'll follow along, and who knows, tweeting might inspire me to blog more regularly!
