It's been a while...

I've been a bad, bad blogger!  I can't believe over six months have gone by since I last wrote.  I have so much to write about but I've had a serious case of writer's block--of the, "oh my, I'm overwhelmed and have so much to write about, where do I even begin?" variety.

So I figured my best bet was just to start small with something fun I did last night, just to get back on the horse so to speak, and work through the backlog of great places I've been in the past six months (including my just concluded 50th birthday trip to Paris).

Last night I went to a reading by my friend Kathleen Flinn, who wrote a wonderful book called "The Sharper Your Knife, The Less You Cry" about her experiences at Le Cordon Bleu cooking school in Paris.  Her book just came out in paperback and she was doing the reading at Elliott Bay Bookstore, one of my favorite bookstores.  Even though I've read her book twice already, having just returned from Paris, I'm all about any excuse to think, hear or talk about Paris as much as possible, plus I wanted to get a couple of copies of the paperback as gifts and get them signed by Kat.   It was a fun evening--if you ever get a chance to hear Kat speak, you should go, she's very funny and engaging.

Ok, now that my first blog post in over six months is out of the way, I promise I'll be back posting more often and fill you in on my travels.  I also plan to post more often about eating out in the Seattle area, since I certainly do enough of it!
